Quite a long one! I was a special education teacher right out of college but decided to work from home once my husband and I started having children. Trying to balance the costs of raising children with a limited budget found me becoming interested not just in my family’s finances but finances in general. I spent years in grain accounting because it was familiar to me, having grown up on a farm, but I eventually grew hungry for new challenges.
After I had been in my grain accounting role for a while, I was eager to learn more and try something different. TFO was the perfect place for me to use skills I had already acquired while learning something new and engaging.
I am constantly learning, new skills and about finance. I love being part of a team. And I love Excel!
The most rewarding parts for me are when I get to work with my team on something charity or community involvement-related. I think it’s important to remember that, no matter your role or your status, community includes everyone. I’ve lived in northwest Ohio for over 20 years and I’m proud of our community.
Without question, my greatest personal accomplishments are all found in my two children. They are both in their twenties now and they are both smart, funny, strong, independent, resourceful, kind, respectful people.
Family is very important to me. Most of my greatest influences have been people in my family, which is a good thing because family is forever!
