What path led you to wealth management?

Being in the insurance space for some 30+ years, my clients’ needs expanded well beyond income replacement and estate preservation. My clients needed wealth management advice and a sound philosophy that made sense. I was hesitant to enter the space as I too, had needs that had been overlooked or underdelivered. Cleves Delp, a friend and industry colleague, had kept on me during this time to discuss his team’s approach, and one fateful lunch set us out on a new trajectory.

Why did you join TFO Wealth Partners?

TFO took a different and refreshing approach to wealth management. It was one deeply rooted in academic research and appropriately referred to as evidence-based investing. A client-first focus combined with tax-efficient and consistent approaches drew me into the organization. I found comfort in their wealth management strategies, and over time became more than comfortable bringing my clients to the table.

What most excites you about your work?

I’m able to take my experience, which grows each day, and keep applying it to my clients’ circumstances. My clients bring me into the room when the big discussions need to take place, because I know their goals and needs, and they trust in our alignment toward the same thing.

What has been your most rewarding career experience?

The most rewarding career experience has been helping generations of families. I’m now fortunate to work with the third generation of client relationships in some cases, and that means we’ve worked together toward that end. When good decisions are made and good planning is followed, good results can ensue.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I’m proud to see all three of my children flourish into adulthood. My oldest son is in Los Angeles working in the professional entertainment industry with my younger son joining me in our practice to help continue this legacy. My daughter, a junior at Indiana University has a calm demeanor and a kind heart and will be successful in whatever professional endeavor follows, like her siblings.

What are some of your life's biggest influences?

I was fortunate to have a Sun Life of Canada Career Agent to work under right when I entered the industry. He helped harness my focus with clients to truly build the great relationships I have today. My father and mother, also instilled great values within me that I carry to this day, again, bringing their legacy forward and through my children.
